Each of our plans is uniquely designed to meet your–and your pet’s–needs. What’s included in each plan varies slightly, but the goal is the same: to deliver the highest quality of care and help you make informed decisions related to your pet’s quality of life.

Our plans include time for our board-certified veterinary internist, Dr. Burtch, to:

  • Perform a comprehensive review of medical records and lab work
  • Communicate with you, the client
  • Assess changes to your pet’s health and plan accordingly
  • Communicate with your primary care veterinarian (if applicable)
  • Provide recommendations for ongoing care


We understand that the cost of care can often inhibit providing the best care for your beloved pet. Please know that we will work quickly and efficiently for you. To reduce your cost as much as possible, it is best to be prepared with all your questions before your consultation. 

We use a veterinary health platform called IDEXX NEO to schedule all of our appointments and house all of your pet’s information in one convenient place. When you sign up with one of our plans, simply accept the invite from our clinic to create an account with IDEXX NEO. This will give you access to your pets’ records and allow you to schedule consultations in the future. Take comfort in knowing that all information remains confidential.

For New Clients

All new clients must start with our New Patient Consultation. Once you are an established client, you may choose to add additional support, ranging from just 6 minutes of consultation to concierge care and more. Phone, email, video, and text options are available.

New Patient Consultation

*Required for new patients
Minimum $300

  • Schedule by contacting our office by phone.
  • A complete review of medical records. If records exceed 100 pages, then a surcharge of $50.00 per 100 pages will be applied (Please let us know if you want to be notified if a surcharge will be applied prior to record review).
  • Includes a phone or video consultation for up to one hour after the medical record review to discuss the assessment and plan.
  • One follow-up communication (10 minutes) to clarify or answer questions is included.
  • Once completed, the client is moved to the Scheduled Consultation Plan (a no-obligation plan) for follow-up consultations unless another plan is chosen or further services are not needed.
  • Billed $300.00 before the consultation to the credit card on file.
  • Clients may also schedule a Wednesday, in-person clinical visit by phone only.

New Patient Consultation

Minimum $300

  • Schedule by contacting our office by phone.
  • A complete review of medical records for up to one hour. If records are extensive, then a surcharge of $50.00 per 30 minutes beyond the one hour will be applied (When all records are received, we can let you know if a surcharge will be applied).
  • Includes a phone or video consultation for up to one hour after the medical record review to discuss assessment and plan.
  • One follow-up communication (10 minutes) to clarify or answer questions is included.
  • Once completed, the client is moved to the Scheduled Consultation Plan (a no-obligation plan) for follow-up consultations unless another plan is chosen or further services are not needed.
  • Billed $300.00 before the consultation to the credit card on file.

Urgent Services

  • Consultation is charged in 30-minute increments and charged at the rate of $400/hr.

  • Same day or less than 24-hour notice phone or video consultation to discuss choices in a time-sensitive manner.

  • Monday through Friday availability: 9:00 am to 9:00 pm (PST). Can be arranged on the weekend if needed.

  • To expedite care, if you do not already have copies of your pet’s medical records (for the past 12 months), you will need to request them directly from all treating hospitals.  

  • Will discuss the medical situation, prognosis, and choices based on the unique situation of that pet at that time.

  • Conversation with the owner and/or treating veterinarian (if they are willing to work with AIMC) and includes conversation and guidance during an emergency.

  • If follow-up care is needed in the next 24-to-48-hour period, consultation is charged in 30-minute increments at a rate of $400/hour.

  • Upon the completion of a consultation, the credit card on file will be charged for services rendered.

In-Person Consultations

Dr. Burtch is seeing patients both in Carmel and Santa Cruz, CA. Every Wednesday, Dr. Burtch will be at Pawsitive Pet Veterinary Hospital. The office is in The Barnyard Shopping Center, 3720 Hatton Barn, Suite G17, Carmel, CA 93923, next to Carmel Valley Roasting Company. Every Thursday, Dr. Burtch will be at Harbor Veterinary Hospital. The office is in the West Marine Center located at 2450 17th Avenue, suite 125, Santa Cruz CA 95062.  We will see current patients and take new referrals as the schedule allows. Please contact the office manager to schedule an appointment.

Limited In-Person Consultations

Dr. Burtch is also seeing patients on Wednesdays in Carmel, CA. Pawsitive Pet Mobile Vet service has allowed us to use their space. The office is in The Barnyard Shopping Center, 3720 Hatton Barn, Suite G17, Carmel, CA 93923, next to Carmel Valley Roasting Company. We will see current patients and take new referrals as the schedule allows. We will have limited diagnostics initially and may expand availability based on demand. Please contact the office manager to schedule an appointment.
